Our client, NEW, has been helping nonprofits succeed by strengthening management and offering solutions to issues facing the nonprofit community. NEW and its partners provide educational, consultative and technological solutions to nonprofits across southeast Michigan, and beyond. NEW was created to manage the NEW Center, a facility that provides affordable office space and shared office equipment for nonprofits. Working with nonprofits throughout the community, NEW staff and leadership saw that nonprofits could benefit from additional support and educational services and has expanded its mission to provide a wide array of resources and solutions to nonprofits.

DUTIES

We seek a master relationship manager to build and maintain relationships that will drive the attainment of organizational revenue goals, as well as manage relationships with a portfolio of existing clients and donors with a view to manage and deepen relationships.

Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, the ideal candidate will have business development, sales or philanthropy experience in a nonprofit setting, a personal interest in advancing NEW’s mission, as well as the ability to show initiative and identify/seize opportunities in real time.

Responsibilities include:
Engaging potential clients (nonprofit organizations) and cultivating relationships

Identifying innovative ways to meet client needs

Utilizing development techniques/skills to increase sales/deepen the relationship

Providing excellent service; building rapport with clients

Develop/execute NEW’s annual fundraising plan

Secure financial support from donors, foundations and grants

Cultivate and maintain ongoing relationships with donors

Overseeing or organizing special events

Providing consultative services to clients related to fundraising and capacity building

Qualifications Include:
Degree in Marketing, Communications, Nonprofit Administration or related field; or equivalent experience

Some prior business or fund development experience, with knowledge of development and relationship management strategies

Experience in the nonprofit sector is desirable

Experience in media relations is desirable

Experience in planning sizable events and/or conferences

The ability to plan and organize time/workload

An ability to build instant rapport with clients and donors; strong influencing skills
