Performs analysis of gene expression, proteomic, and metabolomic data acquired from severely ill patients.

  • Integrates multi-omic and clinical data sets to develop prognostic and classification models.
  • Collaborates with the research team on data analysis, and will develop independent research.
  • Evaluates bioinformatic tools and provides recommendations for inclusion in the analysis pipeline.
  • Writes and manages abstracts, publications, conference presentations and grant applications.
  • Provides basic guidance in bioinformatics
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
    Strong computer skills and hands-on experience in analyzing microarray data, next-generation sequencing data, biomarker based assay data, knowledge-based data analysis modeling software applications, working knowledge of scientific programming (PERL, Phyton, JavaScript, R, etc.), and expertise in working in Unix/Linux and Windows environments. Ability to meet deadlines of projects. Experience with fundamental statistics. Good communication and analytical skills. Team oriented with ability to work independently. Good time management skills; can prioritize multiple assignments. Knowledge of complex laboratory procedures.

    Minimum Education/Training Requirements:
    M.S. degree in bioinformatics or other major extensive bioinformatics experience and track records, including publications. PhD preferred but not required.

    Minimum Experience:
    0-2 years of directly related research experience.

    Physical Capabilities:
    Requires long periods of sitting and standing

    Supervisory Responsibilities/Controls:
    The incumbent has no supervisory responsibility.

    Work Environment:
    Office and Laboratory environment.
