Under general supervision, administers and maintains Asset Protection system(s)/application(s), programs and tools and provides analytical support. Colleagues in this job classification will administer and maintain an exception-based Asset Protection software program; assist in the maintenance of key performance indicators (KPI) and complex exception reports; assist in the development of training materials for advanced system usage; provide user training; perform a variety of moderately complex analyses, audits and data investigations; assess data needs; support investigations; and provide technical research and analytical support in alignment with the company’s Asset Protection strategy. This job classification requires advanced knowledge of exception management theories and practices, advanced knowledge of specialized asset protection system(s), a high level of integrity and strong a bility to gather and analyze data, identify trends and exceptions and present findings.


  • Administers and maintains Asset Protection system(s)/application(s), programs and tools. Maintains and administers exception based POS software. Adheres with controls to ensure data integrity. Maintains system documentation and user procedures. Provides analytical support to research and identify system improvements and or moderately complex system problems. Responds to routine user problems with software/hardware configuration or usage. Assists in resolving routine system problems. Assists with system upgrades and testing. Maintains department metrics for reporting purposes. Maintains digital records and remote viewing software applications. Logs all video tapes and digital footage. Provides regular updates on system performance to supervisor. *Performs a variety of routine analyses and audits. Gathers, analyzes and manages data related to POS exceptions, audits, shrink and inventory. Reviews exception reports; identifies, monitors and analyzes trends. Draws routine correlations between data from disparate sources (i.e., shrink, POS, audit, inventory, claims and fraud investigations). Identifies key breakdowns in policy or systems, forms hypotheses, presents findings to supervisor and makes recommendations for areas/cases requiring further investigation and/or additional controls. Identifies and researches exceptions, suspicious transactions and/or fraud utilizing sound data mining methodologies. Reviews associated video and documentation and prepares cases for investigation. Runs routine reports and distributes actionable data to business leaders. * Partners with Investigators, Auditors, claims adjustors, law enforcement and other internal contacts to assess data needs, support investigations, provide technical research and analytical support. *Monitors and documents investigations in case management system. May monitor sweeps reports to verify card swipes and ensure compliance. May perform Support Center securities responsibilities. Act as lead receptionist for all security-related functions, to include escorting, badge log, Raley’s Support Center and Raley’s West incident response and reporting, or handling persons of concern in or around Raley’s Support Center and Raley’s West offices. Support termination proceedings, issuance of legal warrants or other legal summons notices, or other potentially threatening situations to include workplace violence, Employee altercations, or abuse of person or property at Raley’s Support Center and Raley’s West offices. Monitor all Support Center and Raley’s West surveillance cameras and be available for times when security is needed for third party contractor activity (i.e., elevator maintenance, etc.) *Maintains current knowledge of industry trends and asset protection system(s)/application(s), programs and tools. *Maintains ongoing communication and positive business relationships with all internal customers as well as vendors.   • High School Diploma or G.E.D. and three (3) to five (5) years of experience in retail asset protection or auditing, or the equivalent combination of education, training and experience.


  • Working knowledge of asset protection theories, policies and practices.
  • Working knowledge of retail and department operations.
  • Knowledge of exception management theories and practices.
  • Working knowledge of retail investigation techniques.
  • Working knowledge of local, state and federal regulatory requirements regulatory requirements related to asset protection.
  • Working knowledge of specialized asset protection systems.
  • Knowledge of inventory and audit practices.


  • Ability to apply intermediate skills in analysis of data.
  • Ability to operate a personal computer and related word processing, spreadsheet, presentation, database management software and other specialized software programs in area of specialty.
  • Ability to operate and utilize a variety of specialized tools as required in field of specialization.
  • Ability to analyze data and identify trends and exceptions.
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments simultaneously and be flexible to changing work priorities.
