Tucked splendidly in the heart of spectacular New Tampa, our private club is an occasional retreat for some Members, and serves as a second home for others. Tampa Palms is a private members-only club, but also a destination resort featuring newly renovated exclusive room accommodations, dining, golf, tennis, fitness center with aquatic center, a spa with a wide variety of special treatments, as well as private function rooms and other distinctive places for hosting business meetings or special events.

Job Description

As directed, the Camp Counselor is responsible for the planning, implementation and the supervision of the daily operations of the summer day camp program. Responsible for maintaining cooperative and harmonious relationships with other counselors, showing professionalism, independence and willingness to learn on the job, including insuring the safety of the children.

Responsibilities

Monitors classroom area to ensure the safety and well being of all participants, providing a positive environment while actively encouraging participation to ensure growth and development.

Exemplifies and maintains appropriate behavior at all times for participants, actively listens to all children and shows patience, understanding and respect for others.

Qualified candidate will possess the following qualities:

  • Experience with k through 5 students
  • Highly organized, responsible and reliable.
  • Ability to provide a caring and nurturing environment 4. Flexibility to commit to position for entire 2017-2018 school year 5. College students seeking an education career are encouraged to apply.
  • After-school Counselors must begin the 40-clock-hour Introductory Child Care training within 90 days of employment and successfully complete training one (1) year after the date on which the training began, as evidenced by passage of a competency examination.

Training and exams are paid by Tampa Palms Golf & Country Club. Counselors must also be able to pass a Level II fingerprinting background screening.

Hours:

Counselors must be available to work from 12:45pm to 6:30pm Monday and 1:45pm to 6:30pm Tuesday through Friday.

Additional hours are available. References must be provided upon request.

Qualifications:

Previous experience working with children a must, preferably in a childcare center.

High School diploma or GED required, must be at least 18 years of age.

Individual must possess the ability to work with children ages 5-12 years of age, along with the ability to work independently.

Candidates must be enthusiastic, outgoing, and enjoy working with children.
