Acts as the FACET representative for Physics. Ensures that effort reporting within OMNI system proceeds according to the schedule established by the University. Assists employee, supervisor, and the Office of Institutional Research to resolve discrepancies. Maintains Outside Activity forms for all employees and acts as department rep for FEAS (Faculty Expertise Advancement System).
Responsible for all aspects of promotion and tenure proceedings, including compilation of materials and compliance with departmental and university procedures. Responsible for maintenance of faculty personnel files; monitoring staff evaluations for compliance with state and university regulations; and for organizing faculty candidate meetings with Chairman and Dean, compiling necessary files and letters of reference for Physics candidates.
Assists the Office Administrator with the organization of Physics conferences and workshops and related departmental clerical duties. Run errands for the Department. Other duties as assigned.
A high school diploma/equivalency and two years of experience. (Note: post-high school education may substituent for experience at an equivalent rate.)
Experience with office practices and procedures, including filing and operation of standard office equipment; client/customer service experience; experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook or equivalent software; experience drafting and proofreading business correspondence; and the ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing, to include accurately recording meeting minutes. Ability to use proper telephone etiquette; organize and prioritize work assignments and meet deadlines; and establish and maintain effective working relationships.
Knowledge of University policies and OMNI. Ability to do basic math.
Anticipated Salary Range
Anticipate hiring in the mid-twenties.
